Alabama Culinary Tour: Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives Spots

We haven’t really explored Alabama beyond driving through on our way to other places. When I think Alabama, I think football, seafood, and the Civil Rights Movement. We’re looking forward to visiting this great state, just not in the summer!

Alabama is rich with history and culture, offering a unique blend of Southern charm and hospitality. From the spirited college football games that bring communities together to the mouth-watering seafood fresh from the Gulf, Alabama is a state with so much to offer. Plus, its pivotal role in the Civil Rights Movement makes it a place of profound historical significance.

• Gumbo Shack: (Season 4, Episode 2) Looks like this restaurant closed since the show. What a bummer!
• Panini Pete’s: (Season 3, Episode 8) Famous for its delicious paninis and friendly atmosphere, this is a great stop for a casual bite.
• Sunset Point: (Season 27, Episode 7) Offering beautiful views and even better seafood, Sunset Point is perfect for a relaxing meal.

• Meat Boss Cottage Hill: If you’re a fan of BBQ, Meat Boss has some of the best smoked meats around.
• Roosters: Known for its Surf & Turf Burritos, Roosters is a spot we can’t wait to try.
